Qualification Summary:
Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF)
The Level 3 Award in Assessing vocationally related achievement is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (eg a workshop, classroom or other training environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):
• assessments of the learner in simulated environments
• examining products of work
• skills test
• oral and written questions
• assignments
• projects
• case studies
• recognising prior learning
This qualification contains two mandatory units therefore all 9 credits must be achieved
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (QCF)
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):
• observation of performance in the work environment
• examining products of work
• questioning the learner
• professional discussion with the learner
• use of witness testimony
• learner statements and/or reflective accounts
• recognition of prior learning
The Qualification contains one mandatory unit and 9 credits needs to be achieved to gain this qualification
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF)
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF) is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace, for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment.
Qualification structure
This qualification contains two mandatory units therefore all 15 credits must be achieved
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)
This Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF) is a practical based qualification. It is intended for individuals whose job role requires them to maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
The units within this award are based upon the LLUK (Learning and Development National Occupational Standards). The qualification provides a national benchmark of good practice, capturing the skills, knowledge and experience needed to perform the key activities of internally quality assuring assessment.

This qualification contains two mandatory units therefore all 12 credits must be achieved
Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)
This Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF), is intended for individuals who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance of assessment, without any requirement to practice as an internal verifier.
This qualification is ideal for those individuals new to internal quality assurance and hoping to become an internal verifier. In addition, it is beneficial for those whose role requires them to know about essential principles and practices of internal quality assurance but never practice, for example programme administrators and managers.
This award is based upon the LLUK (Learning and Development National Occupational Standards). The qualification provides a national benchmark of good practice, capturing the knowledge and understanding required for the key activities of internally quality assuring assessment.
This qualification contains two mandatory units therefore all 6 credits must be achieved
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)
This Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF) is a practical based qualification. It is intended for individuals whose job role requires them to lead a team of internal quality assurance (of assessment) staff.
The units within this certificate are based upon the LLUK (Learning and Development National Occupational Standards). The qualification provides a national benchmark of good practice, capturing the skills, knowledge and experience needed to perform the key activities of internally quality assuring assessment.
